sad day :(

Just wanted to let you all know (since most of you know my dad as well) that his mother died today from colon cancer. She was diagnosed just about a month ago and decided that she didn't want treatment but was ready to die. A week ago she suddenly became much sicker than she had been, and today at 2:30pm she went to be with her Lord.

Give Jesus a hug for me, Momom. I love you.

of hair dye and dining room tables...

Today, I will be going with my lovely friend Sprout to our friend Monica's house. Monica is a unit clerk in the ER with us, and she is a hairdresser sort of on-the-side for, I swear, 80% of the ER staff. Anyway, I'm going to be dyeing my hair. I'm not going to tell you what. I'm going to let you be excited (to my family: do not tell or you will die). I'll post pictures later, I'm sure.

Also, my dear, sweet, kind, loving, amazing, and generous grandparents are buying me a dining room table today! I'm super excited to go shopping with them. They're the best, and I love them lotses.

My family is leaving for Florida tomorrow and will be gone for a week. I misses them already. :( I'm sure they'll have fun and I'm jealous of them. Ok, that's it for now. Hair dye pictures to come!!!!!!

Just a quick note to say...

1. I am off my orientation period at the hospital which means: A) I can kill people under my own license now ; B) I don't have anyone to help me when it gets busy; C) I have to figure things out on my own (sort of) if I've never done them before (nothing like life-or-death trial and error); and D) Can you tell I'm terrified (which my co-workers tell me is perfectly normal). In all reality, though, the night shift nurses are pretty tight, and help each other out, and they won't let me sink. I'm just nervous! EEK!
2. I just moved to my own house this weekend! I know, I know, my own house. It's actually half a house (cuz it's a duplex) and I'm renting, but for the next year (at least) it's "my house." I have 2 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, and most of the appliances are furnished. I spent an obscene amount of money this weekend getting just about everything else I need, so that's good. If anyone has a dining room table and chair set they are trying to get rid of, or a few living room-type pieces of furniture they can do without... contact me!
3. Most of you know this, but maybe some of you don't, cuz I don't update much anymore, but I have a boyfriend named Billy. We met at work -- he's an EMT. I'm very happy -- he's a sweetheart.♥
   
   
   

I'll write more later (promise - I have more time now that I'm by myself), but I have to run back to my parents' house, stop at Starbucks and retrieve my credit card (not my fault!), and shower, style my hair etc etc etc. Until next time!
